2 New Insulin-like Growth Factor assays Now Available from IDS!

16 Jan 2007

Immunodiagnostic Systems Ltd. (IDS Ltd.) are pleased to announce the launch of 2 new ELISAs. The assays are for the determination of Human Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein-3 (IGFBP-3) and Mouse Insulin-like Growth Factor-I (Mouse IGF-I).

IGFBP-3
The IDS IGFBP-3 ELISA has been developed in response to customer feedback to meet the needs of both the clinical and research markets. The assay has been demonstrated to have excellent batch to batch precision and linearity and contains glycosylated IGFBP-3 (naturally found in human circulation), which is more physiologically relevant than non-glycosylated IGFBP-3.

The assay has also been designed with the intention to detect only intact IGFBP-3 and so eliminating interference of small fragments that effects other assays.

The assay is very simple and easy to use with components color coded to prevent errors during the assay procedure and can be set to run in combination with our IGF-I assay to give both results within 3 hours. The assay is also very easy to automate on most open automated platforms.

Mouse IGF-I HS ELISA (High Sensitivity)
The IDS Mouse Insulin-like Growth Factor-I (IGF-I) HS ELISA kit is a highly sensitive, two-site enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the quantitative determination of IGF-I in mouse or rat samples. The method incorporates a sample pre-treatment to avoid interference from binding proteins.

Why another rat/mouse IGF-I assay? IDS has been asked for a kit that possesses additional sensitivity to measure IGF-I levels in samples from mice that have endogenously low IGF-I levels (LID, ALSKO mice, etc.). This assay may be used with cell-conditioned medium or tissue extracts from normal rats and mice and utilises a small sample size to fill a niche where other rat/mouse IGF-I assays have failed.
