A must have for any quality-conscious laboratory

15 Oct 2008

It may occasionally happen that an instrument used in the lab appears to be faulty, not functioning correctly, or that the measured values displayed are untrustworthy.

In most cases it turns out that there were no faults in the electronic and mechanical parts of the instrument and that the causes were external ones, for example, a problem concerning the electrode or the chemistry involved.

The 767 calibrated reference from Metrohm allows a quick and easy assessment of the instrument concerned.

A must for the quality-conscious lab, the calibrated reference is simply connected to the measuring instrument to be checked instead of the usual sensor.

In this way the functioning and basic accuracy of almost all Metrohm instruments can be easily checked in a short time. The 767 can also be used to check the high impedance inputs of instruments such as pH meters or titrators.

The 767 Calibrated Reference informs about the basic precision of your instruments and is the perfect troubleshooter if there are any doubts about the functionality of sensors or instruments:

  • Titrators and pH Meters and – the 767 gives a defined mV or pH signal.
  • Conductometers – the 767 has the correct conductivity value.
  • Rancimat – the 767 checks each individual measuring channel.
  • Temperature – just use the 767 instead of your Pt 100 or Pt 1000.
  • Cable and connection problems – the 767 is the troubleshooter.

The actual size of the instrument is 125/85/45 mm and the weight is only 350 g

This device needs no external power supply. The built-in solar cells supply the energy required. If there is not enough light the instrument's smart electronics produce a defined error value.

Metrohm calibrates each individual 767. The actual values are printed on a label fixed to the hinged metal plate. It is recommended to re-calibrate the 767 every five years. Metrohm will do this for you.

Note: The 767 is not designed to calibrate your instruments. It is no substitute for a professional maintenance.
