Merck, a leading science and technology company, will showcase contract manufacturing services and comprehensive portfolio of excipients at the 2016 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Annual Meeting and Exposition, November 13-17, 2016 in Denver, Colorado at booth #1142.

Merck experts will discuss how the company's newest technologies will improve productivity, lower risk, reduce cost and promote safety. Booth presentations will describe solutions for contract manufacturing and formulation.

The company will highlight the following products and services:

  • Contract manufacturing including active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) development and manufacturing services for high potency APIs and antibody drug conjugates.
  • Excipients for controlled release and solubility enhancement, including recent additions to the Parteck® portfolio.

Seminar:

  • Revival of a Long-lost Polymer - Merck experts will present on the "revival" of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), a polymer with an extended history in the pharmaceutical industry, for use in improving solubility of drugs using solid dispersion technology. To be held on Tuesday, November 15, 10:30am, Exhibit Hall, Room 1.

Poster Sessions:

  • Prevention of dose dumping effects in PVA based matrix tablets: A case study with two APIs. (#27M1200)- Monday
  • Hot melt extrusion using direct compression excipient as a plasticizer: benefit of spray dried sorbitol. (#31M0330)- Monday
  • Taste optimization in solid dose: A human sensory panel study. (#24T0130)- Tuesday
  • Polyvinyl alcohol based solid dispersion using hot melt extrusion technology: simple, soluble and stable for poorly water-soluble drugs. (#30T0330)- Tuesday
  • Sticking: How much lubrication can we afford? (#30W0200)- Wednesday
  • Supergenerics development leveraging mesoporous silica. (#26W0230)- Wednesday
  • Use of amino sugar as novel plasticizer for hot melt extrusion. (#30W0330)- Wednesday
