Anachem's Good Pipetting Practice Seminar Programme
Ensure everyone in your lab is pipetting correctly
12 Sept 2016Anachem's Good Pipetting Practice programme covers a range of topics designed to ensure your team has the pipetting skills needed to produce consistent, reliable results.
Drawing on Anachem’s and Rainin’s expertise in liquid handling and pipette service, the Good Pipetting Practice seminar focuses on five key areas. These include Pipetting Ergonomics, the Evaluation & Selection of the Right Tools for Your Liquid Handling Work, Pipetting Techniques and The Importance of Calibration & Routine Maintenance.
As well as outlining how to optimize workflows, Good Pipetting Practice also focuses on how ergonomics can influence experimental data and pipette users’ health. It points out the risks associated with un-calibrated pipettes and the role of routine checks vs. professional service.
"Using pipettes such a lot means you don't think twice about how your technique could be wrong. I found learning about how pipetting techniques affect accuracy very interesting and am looking forward to practicing in the lab." Miss Beckie Greenwood, Trainee IBMS Scientist, PHE Collindale – GBRU
Each 30-minute seminar is conducted by one of our Good Pipetting Practice experts who will train you and your team at your place of work. These hands on sessions can be tailored to your exact requirements to ensure that you receive the help and advice you need.
"The seminar was very useful and highlighted some points of which we were unaware. It was tailored to the company's requirements and was very helpful in improving our technique. It raised awareness of the issues involved in good pipetting technique and improved confidence of everyone who attended." Mr. Andy Hayes, Senior Analyst, Alfa Aesar – Quality Control.
What is your current pipetting risk? Anachem in conjunction with METTLER TOLEDO have developed a free on-line tool which enables you to quickly asses your pipetting risks. The GPP Risk Check only takes 5 minutes and you will receive an assessment of your pipetting risks and recommendations on how to minimizing them.
"It's nice to learn that even experienced researchers can learn some nice handy tips to improve pipetting practice. Some small changes can make a big difference to accuracy & precision". Dr Aisling Doyle, Post Doc, University College Cork, Dept. of Obs & Gyn
