Andor Technology plc (Andor) will maintain its usual large presence at this year’s Photonics West trade show in San Jose, CA, and will be showing a full range of products for Imaging, Spectroscopy, Microscopy and OEM applications. The company will take the opportunity to launch its new iKon-L, a revolutionary large-area, high-sensitivity CCD platform. The 2048 x 2048 array and 13.5 µm square pixels deliver outstanding field of view, resolution and dynamic range. The camera will thermo-electrically cool to -100°C without the aggravation of liquid nitrogen, and is ideal for low light imaging applications including astronomy, luminescence imaging and biochip imaging. The iKon-L follows on from the success of the iKon-M (1Kx1K) CCD launched in 2007.

Andor will also be showcasing the latest addition to its range of EMCCD imaging cameras. The LucaEM R is a highly cost effective, yet powerful megapixel EMCCD camera. With a 1 Megapixel sensor and 8 x 8μm pixels, the LucaEM R offers high resolution over a large field of view, making it ideal for fluorescence microscopy across a range of signal levels.

The company will also be displaying a full family of spectroscopic solutions in their booth. The iDus InGaAs detector offers 512 or 1024 element linear photodiode arrays (PDA) for NIR Spectroscopy with high sensitivity and high resolution. It features wavelength coverage from 800nm to 2200nm, peak QE >80% and low noise electronics, TE cooling to -85°C, and USB 2.0 connectivity. Andor will also present extended scanning capabilities of its Shamrock family of dual-port spectrographs via its dedicated Spectroscopy scanning software.

The show runs from 22nd-24th January 2008 and Andor will be displaying at Booth #1107. Company CEO Conor Walsh, Spectroscopy Development Manager, Antoine Varagnat, and a full team of sales engineers, applications specialists and market development managers will be attending the show, and are willing to discuss the new developments in depth.
