Andor Launches New NIR Detector Array at Photonics West, the Andor iDus InGaAs

23 Jan 2007

Andor Technology, manufacturers of the World’s most compact and reliable spectroscopic CCD detector, today announces the launch of the Andor iDus InGaAs detector array system, a new addition to the iDus range of spectroscopic detectors.

With all the benefits of the iDus range, this latest detector offers a choice of 512 or 1024 element linear photodiode arrays (PDA) ideal for Near Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy with high sensitivity output and high resolution covering wavelengths from 800nm up to 2200nm.

The Andor iDus InGaAs detector array system offers a host of benefits including peak QE of >80% with low noise, thermo-electric cooling to -85ºC for optimal S/N performance and simple USB 2.0 connectivity. With a guaranteed hermetic vacuum seal and exclusive maintenance free design, Andor's proprietary UltraVac™ process optimizes sensor performance (through higher QE and lower dark current) and ensures that this performance is retained year after year.

Coupled to one of Andor’s Shamrock spectrograph models, the Andor iDus InGaAs detector array is ideal for diverse spectroscopy applications including Raman at longer wavelengths, Photoluminescence, Emission, LIDAR – atmospheric absorption, Water absorption – analysis of organic substances, Optical coherence tomography of living tissue, On-line material identification (wood, glass and metals) or agricultural product inspections.

For further information, come by the Andor booth, (# 1727) at Photonics West to discuss your spectroscopy application with the experts or contact Andor Technology.
