Artel Increases Pipetting Technique Training Programs to Help Labs Maximize Human Capital Investments During Tough Economic Times
8 Mar 2009With the recent economic downturn, laboratories are experiencing budget cuts and facing layoffs and staff shortages, yet still must maintain consistently high quality in their liquid handling operations. Personnel training is an effective solution to help laboratories better navigate the economic contraction and optimize staff performance. To meet the growing demand for training, Artel has tripled the number of pipetting technique training seminars offered in 2009.
The company announces its expanded 2009 schedule of Pipette Quality Management Certification seminars, which will include six training classes throughout the year.
“Faced with a challenging economic outlook, lab managers are constantly in search of ways to optimally utilize staff assets,” said Kirby Pilcher, President, Artel. “A training program is a cost-effective way to maximize a lab’s performance with minimal investment. This is especially true for liquid handling operations, where operator pipetting technique can significantly affect productivity and efficiency.”
Artel’s Pipette Quality Management Certification program is conducted in two-day hands-on seminars at the company’s headquarters in Westbrook, Maine. It is designed for laboratory personnel who use pipettes daily and are facing heightened regulatory compliance, working to improve internal processes for managing pipettes, or establishing an internal pipette quality assurance program. Attendees must pass written and practical exams to receive certification.
The seminar helps labs enhance productivity and efficiency in their liquid handling quality assurance systems. It covers such topics as regulation and compliance, pipette repair and maintenance, calibration technologies, consultation on implementing a quality assurance program, and single and multichannel pipetting technique certification.
