Astech Announces Enhancements to its Xelox® (NGI) 1 Series Automated Sample Delivery Workstation
18 Nov 2010The Xelox 1 Series now incorporates multiple ‘DUSA’ dose collection chambers so that additional inhaler shots can be taken for content uniformity testing. This makes the Xelox 1 Series a much more versatile and cost effective dose collection solution.
Once loaded into the workstation, inhaler functions are performed automatically. Discrete automation modules enable cap removal, inhaler actuation, shaking, waste firing and dose collection for content uniformity and particle size determination. DPI, BAI and MDI inhaler variants are accommodated. Data associated with actuation force, actuation distance, dose counter readings and critical flow parameters can all be recorded by this versatile workstation.
The Xelox 1 Series offers significant cost reductions compared to manual laboratory testing, allowing analysts to focus on more value added tasks. The workstation also reduces the potential for work related upper limb disorders (WR-ULD), often associated with this type of testing.
Astech Projects’ Sales & Marketing Director, Anthony Moran commented, “We have been cooperating with the major pharmaceutical companies for many years developing automation solutions that meet their specific inhaler testing needs. Our X-Product systems have been specially developed to improve the throughput, robustness and quality of respiratory drug delivery tests”.
Astech’s X-Products range includes the Xelair® (DCU), Xelize® (ACI) and Xelox® (NGI) systems. They are available in a range of scalable platforms to meet the specific throughput and budgetary requirements of your respiratory testing application and can be configured for any inhaler type.
