Automating whole genome sequencing library prep on MIRO CANVAS

Long read sequencing is vital for producing high-quality genomes with applications in haplotype phasing, structural variant detection, and de novo assemblies, while PCR-free library preparation eliminates base composition bias. Traditional gel-based size selection methods are limited by DNA input requirements and lack automation. INTEGRA Biosciences highlights the PacBio^® SMRTbell^® Prep Kit 3.0 which addresses these challenges by offering PCR-free sequencing with fast bead-based size selection, enabling automated library preparation. The MIRO CANVAS^®, a digital microfluidics platform, facilitates low-throughput automation for complex NGS protocols, including those using the SMRTbell Prep Kit 3.0, resulting in research-ready libraries compatible with PacBio sequencing systems.
