B&W Tek, Inc., an advanced instrumentation company that delivers lab quality Raman spectroscopy solutions through user-friendly mobile platforms, is proud to announce improvements to their NanoRam®handheld Raman spectrometer software. The NanoRam is the ideal choice for nondestructive identification and verification of materials by non-technical users in the lab, warehouse, loading dock or field, helping to eliminate quarantine areas and expedite materials through the manufacturing lifecycle.

Now, the NanoRam offers library and method transfer through updates to the NOS operating software and accompanying NID computer software. This allows for methods and libraries developed on one NanoRam handheld unit to be transferred to another NanoRam handheld unit for the centralized development of libraries and methods across an organization.

Updates to the software also include stricter limitations for regulatory compliance, such as the inability to delete methods or libraries from the NOS operating software and additional user requirements for deleting methods or libraries from the NID computer software, as well as more stringent password controls.

“This was the next logical step for us in updating the NanoRam,” says Dr. Katherine Bakeev, Director of Applications at B&W Tek, Inc. “We want to make sure our customers are able to implement their NanoRam as an identification tool across the board, no matter how many handheld units they have.”
