Bibby Scientific joined local industry representatives at Staffordshire University’s GradEx 2015 event for final year students on May 15th, and was proud to sponsor the Biomedical Science special prize, which was awarded to Stephen Foster.

The annual GradEx event provides students from the Faculties of Computing, Engineering and Sciences with an opportunity to showcase their final year projects and demonstrate their abilities to potential employers, colleagues and clients from outside the University. Bibby Scientific supported this event as part of its ongoing endeavor to engage with the local community and inspire the next generation of scientists.

Katy Bridge, Assistant Product Manager of the Stuart® range of benchtop equipment, acted as a judge for the Biomedical Sciences category during GradEx 2015.

“The science that was exhibited was thoroughly impressive and the hard work that had gone into the projects was evident,” said Katy Bridge. “It was great that Bibby Scientific could be involved in an event that really showcased the fantastic and exciting science that is taking place at a local university.”

The first place prize was awarded to Jessica Luke, BSc(Hons) Biomedical Science, for her project on ‘Dust: The future of forensics?’, and Stephen Foster, BSc(Hons) Biomedical Science,

received the Bibby Scientific sponsored prize for his project on ‘The Effects of Curcumin & Bisdementhoxycurcumin on MCF-7’.
