BioCision LLC, a leader in advanced temperature management and organization of biomedical samples, announced today that it has launched the CoolRack PF (Profile Fit), expanding its comprehensive line of highly thermo-conductive tube and plate holders. The CoolRack PF provides rapid and identical temperature shift rates among samples in microfuge tubes.

“Our CoolRack products have rapidly become indispensable lab tools for scientists who require an organized, consistent way of managing temperature-sensitive samples,” said CEO Rolf Ehrhardt, M.D. Ph.D. “BioCision’s CoolRack PF leaves nothing to chance when it comes to managing multiple microfuge samples; ensuring identical conditions across samples during snap freezing, temperature shifting or rapid thawing.”

The CoolRack PF’s conical tube profile provides full contact between the thermo-conductive rack and each sample, maximizing cooling and heating rates. With the CoolRack PF, snap freezing rates are as fast or faster than those obtained using dry ice alcohol slurry, and are highly reproducible in an indexed, hands-free, upright and dry manner. Liquid nitrogen freezing with the CoolRack PF produces cryogenic freezing without liquid phase sample immersion. The CoolRack PF is ideal for all temperature media, including ice, dry ice, liquid nitrogen and water bath.

The CoolRack PF is one of 11 products in BioCision’s CoolRack line of highly thermo-conductive tube and plate holders launched in the past year. BioCision’s tools are used by researchers in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, and health care industries.

“Scientists are increasingly looking for ways to achieve better accuracy and experiment-to-experiment, user-to-user, lab-to-lab reproducibility in their studies,” Ehrhardt said. “BioCision remains committed to providing highly precise and innovative laboratory tools that allow researchers to standardize sample management, ultimately making their research more successful.”
