The Biometra TAdvanced thermal cycler is available now with Quick Block Exchange (QBE) technology now. “By the Quick Block Exchange technology sample blocks can be exchanged within a few seconds. That enables our customers to further optimize their validation processes,” said Alexander Berka, General Manager of the Life Science business unit at Analytik Jena AG.

Four different block modules are available: 96 well aluminum or silver, 60 well or 384 well. Optionally all sample blocks modules are gradient enabled and offer highest ramping rates in combination with superior temperature uniformity for maximum reproducibility of PCR experiments. The linear gradient tool (LGT) allows one to set the desired temperature difference between the columns or rows of the sample block, thus enabling users to exactly configure the temperature shape of the gradient.

New in the intuitive software is the protocol wizard that offers the ability to create specific PCR programs by entering just a few inputs and to calculate the annealing temperature of primers. In addition to the protocol wizard PCR protocols can be easily and quickly created or edited by tabular or graphical programming or by Multi Step Programming (MSP). The user-specific quick start in combination with the program preview makes tedious searches for previously used PCR programs superfluous.
