BioTek Highlights New Microplate Instrumentation Technologies at Biotechnica 2009
28 Sept 2009BioTek Instruments, Inc. will highlight three microplate instrumentation technologies aimed to save time and money for scientists at BIOTECHNICA 2009, Hall 9, Stand C62 from October 6-8, 2009 at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds, Hannover, Germany.
Featured at the BioTek stand will be the new Epoch™ Multi-Volume Spectrophotometer System, providing a high value, multi-volume, multi-sample solution for life science laboratories with multiple users and assay types. The system includes the Epoch Microplate Reader, which uses monochromator-based optics for absorbance measurements from 200-999 nm in 6- to 384-well microplates and the Take3™ Multi-Volume Plate, used for measuring up to sixteen 2 μL samples, 1 cm cuvettes or BioTek's proprietary BioCell™ 1 cm quartz vessel. Instrument control and data reduction is automatic with pre-programmed Gen5™ software.
Also at the stand will be the modular, monochromator-based Synergy™ Mx Multi-Mode Microplate Reader with Ultra Fine-Tuned™ performance for improved fluorescence, luminescence and absorbance measurements. The top- and bottom-read fluorescence system is equipped with a variable bandpass selection system for flexibility, while premium quadruple grating monochromator architecture guarantees high spectral discrimination and smooth spectral scans.
Finally, BioTek’s new EL406™ Combination Microplate Washer Dispenser offers fast and efficient microplate washing and dispensing in 1536-, 384- and 96-well microplates and now includes magnetic bead separation. By combining microplate washing and up to three reagent dispensers, researchers save time, money and valuable laboratory space. Peristaltic and microprocessor-controlled syringe drive reagent dispensing technologies provide accurate and precise dispensing. It’s also BioStack™ Microplate Stacker compatible and controlled via LHC™ Software or the instrument’s onboard keypad.
