BioTek Instruments is proud to announce receipt of the President’s “E” Award for Exports, presented by U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker, at a ceremony in Washington, DC.

The President’s “E” Award is the highest recognition that a U.S. entity can receive for export activities, and BioTek is one of 123 companies honored by the U.S. Department of Commerce for their significant contributions to support American exports.

“The “E” Awards Committee was very impressed with BioTek Instruments’ innovative scientific instrument technologies. The company’s development of a business model that emphasizes exports as a core part of its business was also particularly notable,” said Secretary Pritzker in her congratulatory letter to BioTek announcing its selection as an award recipient.

Peter Weith, BioTek’s Vice President of Marketing and Sales, received the honor, commenting, “Conducting business in a global market is often complex, yet our BioTek family is motivated every day to make a difference in the American economy growth, create local jobs, and impact the entire world in a positive way.” He also notes that exports account for a significant percentage of the privately held Company’s annual revenues.

U.S. companies are nominated for the “E” Awards through the Department of Commerce’s U.S. Commercial Service office network, located within the Department’s International Trade Administration, with offices in 108 U.S. cities and more than 70 countries. Record years of successive export growth and an applicant’s demonstration of an innovative international marketing plan that led to the increase in exports is a significant factor in selecting the winners.
