Bluechiip to Launch Prototype of New Reader at LabAutomation 2011
28 Jan 2011Bluechiip will launch a prototype of its new reader as part of the groundbreaking bluechiip tracking solution at LabAutomation2011 in Palm Springs from 30 January to 1 February 2011. The reader can be used for tubes, vials, bags and other sample storage containers, as well as carriers such as racks, and when coupled with the unique bluechiip tag, will see tracking and retrieval of high value samples in biobanks and biorepositories taken to a level yet to be seen in the market.
The tag is a mechanical device which has the unique ability to both survive and read the ID of samples in extremely high and low temperatures (including cryogenic conditions), in addition to its immunity to gamma irradiation. Bluechiip provides significant advantages over traditional ID or tracking solutions including labels, barcodes or RFID, and provides the necessary high levels of data surety in the rapidly growing and labor-intensive healthcare market, especially in biobanking.
“We are very excited about showcasing the prototype of the new reader at LabAutomation2011,” said Brett Schwarz, Managing Director and CEO, Bluechiip Limited. “The bluechiip tracking solution will revolutionize tracking of critical assets in the healthcare laboratory environment and there is no better way to demonstrate how close it is to being commercially available than on the world stage at a key event like LabAutomation2011.”
