Bruker Daltonics Announces Microorganism Identification and Classification Application Based on Mass Spectrometry

3 Jan 2006

Bruker Daltonics today announced a new Application Note: Microorganism identification and classification based on MALDI-TOF MS fingerprinting.

MALDI-MS is a high throughput and reliable method for the classification and identification of microorganisms. Applications are feasible in clinical diagnostics, environmental, and taxonomical research, or food processing in quality control. The robust method requires minimal sample preparation efforts and life cycle costs. This process, when utilized in combination with dedicated analysis software, allows the unambiguous identification of bacteria, yeasts, and fungi. Scientists may request Application Note MT-80.
