Bruker Elemental introduces the 2nd generation of its S1 TITAN handheld XRF analyzer platform. Based on extensive customer feedback, the new S1 TITAN enhancements include a weatherproof IP54-rated housing and optional integrated camera & small spot collimator. In addition, the protective TITAN Detector Shield™ has been made standard for all models. The patented SharpBeam™ collimator technology remains a standard feature in all S1 TITAN models. The SharpBeam optimized geometry has many user benefits, including improved measurement precision, reduced power requirements and increased battery life.

The new S1 TITAN is available in four configurations: S1 TITAN 200, 300, 600 and 800. S1 TITAN 600 and 800 use a thin film window and FAST™ SDD detector for analysis of up to 37 elements, including light elements such as Mg, Al and Si, without the need for a vacuum or helium gas flush. S1 TITAN 200 and 300 are value analyzers with SiPIN detectors. When equipped with an aluminized Kapton® window, the S1 TITAN is also able to measure in-process samples at temperatures up to 500°C.

The new S1 TITAN covers a wide range of applications and materials. Whether it’s in aerospace or automotive applications, in metals processing or fabrication, in electronics manufacturing, in a refinery, in a power plant, in mining, in recycling and scrap sorting, in consumer products testing, in field environmental analysis, or in the testing laboratory— the S1 TITAN will quickly and accurately analyze the elemental composition and identify the alloys of your sample or parts being tested. The S1 TITAN is capable of analyzing a vast list of materials, including industrial metals, exotic aerospace alloys, e-scrap, drill core, soil, consumer goods, and more.

In addition, the S1 TITAN is available configured specifically to analyze precious metals. Given the current fluctuation in gold prices, knowing the exact concentration is critical. Handheld XRF is a very quick and easy way to measure the value of gold jewelry, which is being sold or purchased.

John Landefeld, Executive Vice President of the Bruker Elemental Division, commented: “Customer feedback is a critical part of our design process, and has resulted in several further improvements to the very successful S1 TITAN platform: our redesigned 2nd generation S1 TITAN now allows customers the flexibility to choose a collimated small spot (3, 5 or 8mm), in addition to an integrated camera. The new IP54-rated housing allows the S1 TITAN to be used under demanding environmental conditions. Also, the popular TITAN Detector Shield™ is now standard on all models. The result is one of the most durable handheld XRF analyzers on the market today. In addition, our patented SharpBeam™ technology reduces weight and power consumption. In terms of analytical performance and proprietary algorithms, the S1 TITAN has made even further progress for many important metals, mining and recycling applications and calibrations, and today represents the best available handheld XRF system for fast, easy-to-use, accurate, reliable and automated elemental analysis and positive material identification.”

The new S1 TITAN is Bruker’s best-in-class handheld XRF analyzer, and it complements Bruker’s research line of portable XRF analyzers, the Tracer. Please click on the company website link below for additional information on the new S1 TITAN.
