Cellexus Biosystems PLC (CBIO: Ofex) of Cambridgeshire, UK, has this week achieved a significant milestone when it unveiled its products to researchers attending the internationally renowned SCIpharm 2006 conference in Edinburgh.

Attendees at SCIpharm were given an exclusive preview of the company’s products, which will be used for the production of cells used in bioresearch and production of new medicines by the biopharmaceutical industry. On show were the CellMaker Lite™ 2-10 litre and the CellMaker Lite™ 10-50 litre versions of the system. The CellMaker™ Lite does not need to be shaken, stirred, rocked or rolled, which means that it is both simple to use and easy to manufacture.

Commenting on the exhibition, Dr Auton said “SCIpharm was an excellent opportunity for us to preview our products to leaders in the pharmaceutical industry. The simplicity of our systems and their low investment costs generated a strong and positive reaction from researchers, who liked the design of the CellMaker Lite and its ease-of-use. All could immediately see the application of our technology in their own operational environments.”

The Company expects to begin shipping production systems to customers in the fourth quarter of 2006.
