Cellomics Launches new HCS solutions for Oncology

23 Mar 2006

Angiogenesis, or the formation of new blood vessels, is an important process that plays a significant role in several diseases. It is an attractive target for cancer therapeutics, as inhibition of angiogenesis has been proven an effective means to treat solid tumors.

Because angiogenic tube formation is a morphological change, cellular imaging-based assays can provide a wealth of information on the degree and quality of angiogenic tube formation.

The Tube Formation BioApplication is an image analysis algorithm that allows scientists to quantitatively analyze angiogenic tube formation in vitro. It measures number of tubes, tube size, tube area, branch points, and other features of tubes in vitro. This application has been biologically validated in HUVEC cells, enhancing confidence in your image-based data. It can be used for on-the-fly analysis of images collected on any Cellomics® HCS Reader, improving your productivity.
