Cleaning Up Nucleic Acid Analysis

AstraNet Systems Ltd has integrated novel signal processing technology into its new AstraGene iCF spectrophotometer for nucleic acid analysis.

AstraNet claim that their intelligent, composite filters (iCF) have made it possible to completely remove the background absorbance of the pipette tip that holds the two micro-liter sample during measurement. This effectively makes the tip invisible and the sample equivalent to a suspended drop. But, unlike drop based systems, AstraGene iCF eliminates the risk of exposing the sample to the environment and the operator, while enabling the entire sample to be retained for further analysis or processing.

AstraNet further claim that the new AstraGene iCF offers enhanced graphical resolution and improved repeatability along with the ease-of-use and operator independent results inherent in its measurement technique.
