Colder Products Company is highlighting innovative, reliable and smart connection solutions that save time, prevent misconnections and add convenience to critical applications at MD&M East 2006, Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York, June 6-8.

Visitors to booth #2148 can learn about Colder’s popular PMC12 coupling with an integrated ¼-28 flat bottom port that saves the user time by eliminating the need to thread and re-thread a separate fitting whenever a fluid line is disconnected. Also on display is Colder’s IdentiQuik® SMC coupling that incorporates the company’s RFID capability.

Compatible with standard compression fittings, the new coupling with a ¼-28 flat bottom port is ideal for a wide variety of analytical instrument equipment and applications, including mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, gas chromatography, reagent lines, and waste lines.

The release of the 1/8” flow polypropylene coupling responds to an increasing demand for rigid, microbore tubing. “The analytical instrumentation market is moving toward smaller tubing in fluid-handling systems,” says Jim Brown, medical business unit manager, Colder Products Company. “The new polypropylene coupling port addresses this trend while providing the safety benefits afforded by a secure, leak-free connection.”

The new IdentiQuik SMC coupling, which utilizes radio frequency identification (RFID) to electronically verify connection accuracy, provides a high-quality, reliable alternative to luer-type connectors. Featuring a secure, twist-to-connect design, the connection is ideal for a variety of applications, including blood pressure cuffs, surgical equipment, blood analyzers, tube sets, and analytical instrumentation.

Made from acetal and polypropylene, the SMC is available in 1/16", 1/8", and 3mm hose barb sizes. The IdentiQuik SMC couplings are offered as in-line bodies and inserts, with valved or non-valved options.
