STARLAB is committed to providing the best hand protection available. Regardless of application and user preferences, STARLAB’s five new StarGuard® disposable gloves offer daily protection in the laboratory without sacrificing comfort.

Glove Ergonomics

Glove ergonomics may not appear that critical over the length of an average career, but poorly fitting gloves can increase the risk of developing a workplace-related injury. Selecting the right glove will aid your ergonomic safety. Gloves should fit the hand comfortably. Gloves that are too small continually constrict the palm and stress delicate nerves, blood vessels, tendons and ligaments in your hands. In contrast, gloves which are too large will force you to strain your hands to keep the glove material in place without bunching up. Even today, with all of the ergonomic information that is available, some professionals still do not equate wearing poor fitting gloves with the development of workplace-related musculoskeletal disorders. All StarGuard® gloves are extremely comfortable and provide great dexterity, thus reducing hand fatigue during long periods of use. Additionally, StarGuard® COMFORT is ergonomically certified to provide measurable ergonomic benefits to the user.

Chemical Splash Protection

Nitrile gloves provide the best chemical splash resistance in a disposable glove, as well as excellent barrier protection against biohazards, water miscible substances, weak acids and alkalis (pH4-10), aliphatic solvents, and oil and grease. Everyday protection requires a glove with both strength and durability when contact with hazardous chemicals is a daily task. The StarGuard® range of gloves has been tested by a third party to both EN374-3 and EN16523-1 standards against an array of chemicals. StarGuard® PROTECT is made from a durable but soft nitrile material that offers users excellent comfort while performing delicate tasks, without compromising splash protection. StarGuard® PROTECT+ has extended cuffs for increased protection for the wrist and forearm.

Contact Dermatitis

It is not just latex gloves that users can react to. Some people can react to the chemical additives in a glove, whatever the material. StarGuard® SENSITIVE gloves are true, accelerator-free gloves. To be truly accelerator free, the glove must be produced without ANY accelerators, not just the common ones. Some gloves claim to be accelerator free but really only use different accelerators to those commonly used. Advanced polymer technology and manufacturing processes means StarGuard® SENSITIVE are made without any accelerators. StarGuard® SENSITIVE have demonstrated, through advanced biocompatibility testing, a reduced potential for irritation from chemical additives and have clinically shown to reduce the incidence of the redness and itching associated with contact dermatitis. They carry the US Food & Drug Administration authorised claim of Low Dermatitis Potential.
