Covaris, Inc. Opens New Office to Increase Support for European Customers

Covaris, Inc., an innovator in the life science tools and the clinical diagnostic market spaces, announced that its European subsidiary, Covaris Ltd, which is located in the United Kingdom, will commence operations on May 1, 2014.

Covaris Ltd has sales, service, and application representatives throughout Europe providing a high level of support for recently launched application kits such as truXTRAC™ for FFPE DNA extraction and truChIP™ for Chromatin shearing. Covaris, known for its proprietary Adaptive Focused Acoustics™ (AFA) technology, will enhance delivery times by shipping consumables, including the new microTUBE LV™, which enables DNA fragmenting in volumes as low as 15µl, from its European distribution centre in Brighton, England.

Covaris Founder and CEO, Jim Laugharn adds: “As analytical technologies for the life sciences become more sophisticated, the need for precise, accurate, and high-quality sample preparation becomes a critical prerequisite.

By establishing a local presence with Covaris Ltd, we will be better positioned to serve our European customers’ by providing direct product, application, and customer support services.”

Covaris, Ltd. will be managed locally by Dr. Adrian Palmer who joined Covaris in 2013 and brings 15 years’ experience in scientific, customer support and commercial roles acquired at Roche, Sirigen (a BD company) and Lab 21.
