Artel will be hosting a complimentary webinar with the Cambridge Healthtech Institute, titled: “Employing a Process Optimization Strategy for Improving Biopharmaceutical Assay Workflows.” The webinar will take place on April 16, 2020, from 11:00 to 12:00pm EST and will feature Dr. Nathaniel Hentz.

As labs turn to automation to increase throughput, lower costs, and reduce operator errors, they are looking for ways to simplify their workflows. These benefits can only be realized if the numerous factors contributing to variability are identified and controlled for during the automation process. In this webinar, specific sources of variability such as assay mixing, liquid handler calibration, pipetting viscous solutions, and disposable tip lot-to-lot deviations, as well as other factors, will be discussed.

Dr. Hentz is currently Director, Scientific Market Development at Artel. Prior to that he served as Assistant Director of the BTEC Analytical Lab at North Carolina State University. In that role, the curricula he was responsible for included biopharmaceutical industry short courses focused on assay development and validation. In this webinar, Dr. Hentz will bring all he has learned from his tenure as an industry teacher, and from his years at Eli Lilly, as well as supporting the automated screening systems within the Lead Discovery group at Bristol-Myers Squibb.

The key takeaway for webinar attendees will be identifying an efficient methodology for successful transfer of a process to automation. Registration is free and registrants will have access to a recording of the webinar afterwards.
