Deerac Fluidics, Labcyte and Promega workshop at SBS

26 Mar 2007

Deerac Fluidics, Labcyte and Promega are joint sponsors of a special workshop that will take place prior to the start of the SBS annual meeting. The workshop will be held on Sunday, April 15th in room ‘513a’ at the Palais Des Congres de Montreal from 9:30am – 12:30 pm. The Workshop title is Miniaturization of GPCR assays – a practical approach.

Agenda
9:30AM-10:30AMContinental Breakfast and Informal Discussions
10:30AM-11:00AM - Bioluminescence for GPCR Studies
Tracy Worzella, MS, Applications Scientist, Promega
11:00AM-11:30PM - GPCR Agonists and Antagonists Screening Using Echo™ Acoustic Liquid Handler
Jean Shieh, Applications Specialist, Labcyte
11:30PM-12:00PM - Low-Volume, High-Precision Dispensing for the HTS Environment
Aoife Gallagher, PhD, Product and Applications Manager, Deerac Fluidics
12:00PM-12:30PM - Round Table Discussion

Promega, Labcyte, and Deerac Fluidics will present an integrated solution for G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling studies in 1536-well plate format. Promega’s cAMP-Glo™ Assay monitors cAMP levels in cells in response to the effect of ligands on GPCRs. Therefore, the assay can be used to screen for agonist or antagonist test compounds. The attendee will learn about the features of the cAMP-Glo™ assay and see representative data. The Labcyte® Echo™ 555 acoustic nanoliter liquid handler, and the Deerac Fluidics™ Equator™ HTS reagent dispenser are also described for drug discovery applications.
