DNASTAR, Inc. today released its latest version of visualization software, GenVision v2.0, with expanded capabilities for creating publication-quality images depicting large quantities of genomic information. The desktop software is designed to work with the company’s Lasergene software to permit easy flow of larger data sets and to make real-time visual and data edits. The software is compatible with Windows XP® and Windows Vista™ systems and Mac® OS X 10.4 and 10.5.

Bob Steinhauser, DNASTAR’s Director of Marketing stated, “GenVision provides scientists with the ability to generate quickly high-quality graphical images of their genomic data. With the increasing interest in being able to work with larger data sets, the enhancements available with the upgraded GenVision will significantly increase its utility in the research community. Because of Lasergene and NGen’s strong penetration into the changing sequencing field, the latest version of GenVision will provide researchers with another tool for their genomic studies.”

DNASTAR has created software for more than 25 years to increase researchers’ productivity. Currently, the Company produces Lasergene, a sequence analysis software suite; SeqMan NGen for the assembly of large quantities of data generated from Next Generation Sequencing technologies, ArrayStar, a gene expression analysis and visualization software package which permits RNA-Seq and DGE applications to be performed and GenVision.
