Cedip Infrared Systems has announced the PROTON MW-IR Dual FoV Thermal Imaging Module for researchers and integrators looking to develop and build their own long range surveillance system.

Incorporating a sensitive MCT focal plane array sensor (3.6-4.9 µm), state-of-the-art 14-bit digital electronics and motorised optics in a compact, ruggedised housing the PROTON Thermal Imaging Module is fully compliant to military specifications and the perfect choice for thermal IR measurement in airborne, naval or ground operations.

Based around a bifocal design the PROTON uses motorised lenses switchable by a single command, to provide optimal detection or recognition capabilities at distances ranging from 5 to 25 km. The PROTON Thermal Imaging Module can be remotely operated though a communication line with the video image provided in either analogue or digital RS422 format.

Cedip Infrared Systems develops, designs, manufactures and markets high performance infrared cameras, systems and OEM modules for industrial, research, surveillance and security organisations. Thanks to a unique combination of technological know-how in electronics, optics, precision mechanics and software, Cedip's teams of engineers and highly qualified technicians, backed by a world network of informed distributors, support a growing customer base in more than 50 countries.
