Ductless Hoods Offer Laboratories Energy Savings of Up to 96 Percent

Camlab has added the energy efficient and environmentally friendly erlab® range of ductless fume hoods and storage cabinets to the company’s extensive range of laboratory furniture.

The ductless fume hoods are designed to reduce energy bills by up to 96 percent by re-circulating and purifying the laboratory air rather than replacing it, ductless fume hoods preserve heated air in the winter and cooled air in summer.

Combined with low installation costs and flexibility of location, a typical overall saving of up to 70 percent can be achieved compared to a ducted solution.

“Although traditional ducted fume hoods have been prevalent in the UK for many years and appear to offer a straightforward solution to the problem of laboratory fumes. We are becoming increasingly aware of environmental considerations and energy cost issues. The new ductless fume hoods are all supported by the Erlab Safety Program (ESP)™ offered by erlab® which comprises a combination of three services, included in the purchase of each captair® filtering fume hood, in order to ensure correct operation throughout its service life. The services include:
