Enhanced Informatics Capabilities for Quality Control Microbiology
25 Jul 2012Today Lonza announced the release of MODA-EM™ Version 3.1, a significant update to the MODA™ platform. This follow-up provides quality control microbiology departments with enhanced reporting and trending capabilities, greater paperless efficiency, and the ability to seamlessly integrate with other systems.
“We’re excited to release MODA-EM™ Version 3.1 to the industry. We consulted extensively with our customers. With their guidance Lonza is delivering an update that provides cutting-edge analytics, major improvements in user experience, and new global deployment features. These strike the balance between local needs and enterprise IT requirements. Thanks to our customers and staff, Version 3.1 gives QC Micro organizations a best-in-class informatics platform for their needs today, while meeting the global quality and regulatory demands of the future.” appreciates Mike Goetter, Innovation Director of Informatics for Lonza Bioscience.
This release introduces a number of new analytics tools to the existing MODA™ offering. It enables the users to capture and view up-to-the-minute data using multiple dashboards. Enhanced trend reports include 3D charts as well as an expanded report gallery reflecting changes in regulatory guidance. At the same time, there is an Excel® plug-in that allows a direct, secure connection to the MODA-EM™ software for ad hoc trending and statistical analysis.
MODA™ Version 3.1 features numerous customer-driven usability enhancements, including SOP linkage to document management systems, once-per-session data entry with color-coded compliance checks for sampling and lab activities, and new automatic trending notification features based on new industry guidance on environmental monitoring.
The MODA™ API (application programming interface) allows the development of applications that integrate with MODA™. It provides connections to existing systems with no end user interaction required. The web service API facilitates data exchange with widely adopted enterprise systems commonly seen in Pharmaceutical and Biotech organizations, such as continuous monitoring systems, ERP, LIMS, and maintenance/calibration systems. Many new particle counters and lab devices have been added to MODA-EM™ supported device list.
Version 3.1 supports multiple languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Czech, Japanese and Portuguese–Brazil) and offers the framework to quickly and easily add additional languages.
