A new personal mini drybath, which has the smallest footprint of any dry bath presently available, has been introduced by laboratory equipment specialists CLEAVER SCIENTIFIC (CSL). The microBLOCK is an ultra-compact mini dry bath with a 15 x 10cm footprint, so is not only small enough to fit within the palm of your hand, but is also perfect for use in laboratories where bench space is limited.

The microBLOCK, which features digital control in 0.1°C increments of temperatures ranging from ambient +5°C to 80°C, is accurate to within +/- 0.5°C. Six interchangeable block configurations are available for 0.2mL PCR tubes and strips, as well as tubes 0.5ml, 1.5ml, 2ml, 15ml and 50ml in size, to offer the utmost versatility for many different incubation and denaturation techniques.

A clear cover helps maintain block temperature uniformity within +/- 0.2°C, while the microBLOCK’s light weight of 1.8kg and optional 12V car battery adaptor facilitates easy and convenient use within the field. Also, due to its small size and minimal heating area the microBLOCK uses less energy than larger dry block units.
