Eppendorf has launched seven new models to its epMotion range of automated pipetting systems. Designed for effective, automated liquid handling applications, the new epMotion 5070 and epMotion 5075 systems provide a precise, accurate alternative to time-consuming manual pipetting and liquid handling tasks. The combination of accelerated operational speed, new software & hardware features and an increased number of worktable positions make the systems ideal for simple and flexible laboratory use across a wide range of liquid handling applications.

To ensure easy and consistent use, the epMotion 5070 and epMotion 5075 employ both Eppendorf’s established epBlue™ software and an intuitive new software assistant concept. This supports the simple programming of applications and ensures that all users can use the system with only initial training. In addition, novel features such as a new CleanCap option, including UV light decontamination and a HEPA filter for purified air (available for the larger 5075 systems), offer new standards of decontamination and sample safety. This is supported even further by an optical sensor that checks labware, liquid levels and tip counts and type at the start of each cycle, hugely decreasing any risk of error during the run.

“The need for flexible, easy automation of liquid handling tasks is well known,” commented Dr Carsten Buhlmann, Global Product Manager for Automation at Eppendorf AG. “The specialized robotic system in the epMotion 5070 and epMotion 5075, along with the increase to 15 worktable positions, provides even greater application flexibility. More applications can be carried out rapidly and efficiently, and the innovative range of features, including the CleanCap option and software assistants, ensures that users can work with complete confidence.”

Also available is the new epMotion 5075m, which combines magnetic bead separation abilities with the rest of Eppendorf’s innovative technologies to create the most flexible system in the epMotion range.
