Researchers up to 35 years of age and working in Europe are eligible to apply for the Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators 2011. Also, for the first time, Eppendorf products and New Brunswick products will be displayed side by side, based on application, including the newly launched electronic pipette Xplorer and two new refrigerated microcentrifuges.

Eppendorf’s product highlights are two new refrigerated microcentrifuges, which will be introduced for the first time to the Hanover audience. The new refrigerated 18-space and 24-space microcentrifuges by Eppendorf are right in step with Eppendorf’s Silence | Speed | Simplicity™ philosophy for centrifugation. With their small footprint, extremely silent operation and FastTemp function for quick pre-cooling, the centrifuges 5418 R and 5424 R set new standards for refrigerated microcentrifuges.

A further market introduction is the first breakable PCR plate. It can be easily separated into smaller fragments to accommodate experiments of a smaller format. This saves both material and money. The “twin.tec 96 PCR Plates unskirted, separable“ may be broken into four 24-well segments. The empty remainder of the plate is thus available for future experiments. The plates are compatible with nearly all common cyclers.

With the introduction of the new Protein LoBind Deepwell Plate in Hanover, Eppendorf is expanding the Eppendorf LoBind selection of products by a large-volume 96 well plate format. Sample recovery rates of up to 99% after 24 h guarantee even more accurate results from subsequent experiments.
