The Modular Sample Processor, a modular benchtop automation platform developed by Anton Paar, controls and logs every step gravimetrically using the integrated weighing and dosing module. A special software calculates the correct volume, dilution or blend based on the received subsample data. Via the integrated bar code reader each subsample can be traced back to its original input sample/batch. This makes each subsequent measuring result traceable.

The Modular Sample Processor is flexible. Depending on requirements it can be used as a stand-alone unit for sample preparation or be embedded in an individual, automated workflow. Measuring instruments such as viscometers, density meters, refractometers, etc. can be connected directly via the integrated media interface and/or the samples or sample trays can be quickly transported to a measuring instrument by a robot.

The Modular Sample Processor handles liquid samples up to a viscosity of 1000 mPas. It processes input samples in containers with up to 1 liter volume and doses to a minimum volume of 100 µL. Disposable consumables and an integrated trash chute prevent contamination. Due to its modular design the Modular Sample Processor is customizable and can be equipped with additional features.
