Festo to Showcase Advanced Lab Automation Solutions at SLAS2013
8 Jan 2013Festo will showcase its next generation solutions for laboratory automation and screening at SLAS2013 in Orlando, booth #1301, January 12-16 and during the attendee workshop on Monday, January 14.
The SLAS2013 workshop, to be held on the 14th from 12 to 1:45 p.m. in the Sarasota 1-3 meeting room, will cover recent advancements in three key areas of lab automation. Dr. Andreas Schüle will open the workshop with details of a new liquid handling, micro dispensing, and pulsation free mixing solution in a unique flexible automated package. A discussion of new Piezo-valve-based technology for gas control will follow. Compact, energy efficient Piezo valves have a host of mobile and stationary applications, including in vitro diagnostics and respiratory care.
The workshop will wrap up by showcasing the advantages of FESTO single belt x-y gantries including lower cost, smaller size, and greater simplicity compared to present systems and capable of high-speed and precision. These automated solutions are used in such applications as liquid handling, carrier systems, dispensing/pipetting, reading, and aspirating modules, stackers, and grippers.
“Festo is well known and respected in the European lab automation space,” said Steve Fitterer, lab automation segment manager, Festo. “Appearances in North America like the one at SLAS 2013 are opening the eyes of scientists on this side of the Atlantic to new horizons in automated liquid dispensing, control of gasses, and mechanical movement.”
Lab automation experts will be on hand at Festo’s SLAS2013 booth #1301 to discuss present solutions and solutions now in development.
