Finnzymes Diagnostics Releases New PathoProof™ Mastitis Major-3 Kit for Rapid Detection of Three Highly Contagious Mastitis Pathogens

The PathoProof™ product family has expanded to include a new reagent kit for detection of the three contagious mastitis pathogens Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae and Mycoplasma bovis. For the first time in mastitis management, Mycoplasma bovis can now be detected in only four hours whereas conventional culturing takes 7-10 days.

PathoProof™ Mastitis Major-3 Kit can be integrated into milk recording programs using bronopol-preserved milk. It also enables testing of bulk tank milk samples creating an efficient way to simultaneously screen an entire herd for contagious mastitis-causing bacteria.
