GE Healthcare Launches Biotin CAPture Kit
5 Jul 2009GE Healthcare announces the launch of Biotin CAPture Kit for fast, cost-effective, and convenient capture of a biomolecule to a sensor chip surface and subsequent analysis in Biacore systems, including unstable molecules or molecules for which no regeneration protocol can be established. An alternative to direct immobilization or biotin-streptavidin immobilization, Biotin CAPture Kit has the advantage of a standardized protocol for regeneration, and the ability to change ligands between experiments without changing the sensor chip.
The kit is based on a novel capture concept that allows for the reversible capture of biotinylated molecules and generic regeneration. The sensor chip, Sensor Chip CAP, is built on a carboxymethylated dextran matrix to which a ss-DNA molecule is pre-immobilized. Biotin CAPture Reagent consists of streptavidin conjugated with the complementary ss-DNA molecule.
The kit is available in two versions, Biotin CAPture Kit and Biotin CAPture Kit Series S, one for each sensor chip format used in Biacore systems. The kit is compatible with most samples and analytes, and the majority of applications and analyses, performed using Biacore systems.
The new Biacore X100 2.0, due to be launched in September, includes a built-in pre-programmed workflow to support the kit.
