Genetix Introduces Two New “CloneMedia” Semi-Solid Media Reagents

3 Dec 2007

Genetix, a leading developer of technologies for automated, high throughput cell identification and selection for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and clinical diagnostics industries, announces the expansion of its “CloneMedia” range of semi-solid media products for mammalian cell cloning.

Launched at American Society of Cell Biology, in Washington DC, the two new products – CloneMedia-HEK and CloneMedia-CHOK1 – are designed for the semi-solid cloning of suspension-adapted, serum-free HEK293 and CHOK1 cells, respectively.

These two new CloneMedia products enable the cloning of transfected HEK293 and CHOK1 cell lines in a rapid, one-step system. Semi-solid media facilitate the growth of clonal colonies from single cells and subsequent isolation of high expressing clones within days of plating, thus eliminating the need for limiting dilutions.

Genetix cell biology reagents and consumables were designed for integration with ClonePix FL, Genetix’ revolutionary system for rapid, automated cell identification, selection, isolation and collection, providing a complete system approach to cell biology applications. Manufactured to exceptional standards of quality, CloneMedia – and all Genetix cell biology reagents and consumables – are also highly effective and well-suited for use in manual cell identification and selection processes.
