Genevac moves on WEEE compliance…

22 Mar 2006

Genevac Ltd., world leader in solvent removal technologies, has announced the success of various schemes enabling it to comply with the EU (European Union) Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) only due to become law in July 2006.

As a result of upgrade and trade-in schemes over the last year, Genevac took back and has recycled 150 evaporators, cold traps and pumps that are covered under category 9 of the new directive.

Rob Darrington (Business Development Manager) commented 'having shipped over 2000 centrifugal evaporator systems - Genevac already has an advanced recycling program in place, we have planned early how to handle customer requests to arrange collection of WEEE and to identify suitable recycling centres'. He added 'upgrade and trade-in programs over the last year have allowed us to meet the WEEE recycling targets ahead of the new directive becoming law and to establish an audit trail for the process'.

Genevac today offers a comprehensive portfolio of evaporators to suit almost any solvent removal application, purchasing budget or productivity requirement. Details of the current Genevac evaporator range may be found at www.genevac.co.uk/products/evaporators.html
