Girus Life Sciences Inc. (San Jose, CA) and Eppendorf Biochip Systems GmbH (Hamburg, Germany) have entered into a Service Provider Agreement for Eppendorf’s microarray products. With this move, Girus becomes an Eppendorf top tier “Certified Service Provider”.

According to Sven Bülow, Managing Director of Eppendorf Biochip Systems, “Girus fills a gap in our network of Certified Service Providers by offering services for our microarray systems in tandem with its cell culture and stem cell contract research capabilities. Because of the increasing importance of the stem cell community and our most recent product launch, the TF Stem Cell Chip for analyzing transcription factor activities in differentiating vs. pluripotent cells, the expertise Girus can offer our customers can help us serve these researchers much more successfully.”

Referring to the Agreement, Abi Abitorabi, President and CEO of Girus Life Sciences said: “In January of this year, we expanded our Development services to R&D services providing more integrated solutions to our customers. Since then, we have continually increased Girus’ capabilities and the quality of our R&D services. We are pleased now to add Eppendorf microarray services to our offerings, and are delighted about our new relationship with Eppendorf Biochip Systems, especially in light of Eppendorf’s long history of providing high quality products to researchers. Based on our experience with methodologies for analyzing cells including stem cells, we believe that Eppendorf’s new arrays will serve as outstanding new tools for studying phenotypic and functional changes in cells and tissues. Provision of services with these arrays strengthens Girus’ ability to gather valuable results in support of our clients’ research efforts.”

Eppendorf has established a network of Certified Service Providers in North America and Europe that offer consultation and experimental services on the Eppendorf microarray platform. These services include both standard theme-specific microarrays as well as transcription factor arrays and customized microarrays.
