Fully automated compound screening

It is important to know, how effectively potential drugs can pass biological membranes. With PAMPA (Parallel Artificial Membrane Permeability Assay) this capability can be tested early in development. The membrane is mimicked by basic reagents and lipids in this assay, making it a cost effective solution, that can be easily automated..

By automizing this assay on the STAR platform, users get:

  • Reproducible, high quality data
  • “Walk-away”-functionality

The MICROLAB® STAR performs all necessary pipetting and incubation steps for 96 samples in approximately 60 minutes.

Dynamic Resource management

For optimal execution of parallel processes, HAMILTON introduces a new Scheduling-package as part of the Vector Software. Existing Resources of the system, including Incubators, Readers, Cyclers or additional systems are managed and controlled centrally.

While this package is mandatory for complex automation solutions, it also offers decisive advantages when working with repetitive tasks.

Nanopipetting on the STAR

With the Nanodispenser module HAMILTON offers a new extension for the STAR workstation. On the very same system the module can be combined with:

  • 96/384probe heads
  • 1 -12 individual channels

Making complex transports between dedicated nano- and microliter pipetting systems obsolete. That makes the combination ideal for applications like:

  • PCR Setup (Real time)
  • SNP reaction setup
  • Compound screening
  • Protein crystallization

The Module is available as 8-channel or as 8+1 channel unit with one individual channel.
