HEL (Borehamwood, UK) has been the leader in adiabatic calorimetry for some time, and has combined with Setaram to offer a comprehensive product range to any Process Safety laboratory – form DSC, through to full vent size determination using Low Phi Factor Adiabatic Calorimetry (Phi-Tec I).

Setaram will introduce the ALL NEW PHI-TEC I, which uses the well established adiabatic principles developed by DOW for the original “ARC” with totally new mechanical design, increased sensitivity, extra operating modes and exceptional software. This exciting new offering includes, for the first time, a bench top design that can fit inside a standard fume hood and run off a standard PC running XP/Vista. There is no longer any need for either a stand-alone housing or walk-in fume hood, this new design includes easy access for the ARC bombs and also HEL’s award winning GUI based software.

The principles of the Dow-ARC have also been incorporated into a customized version for testing batteries – the so-called Phi-Tec Battery Testing Calorimeter. Uniquely combining the ability to test large batteries and battery components with ease of use and precision, this has quickly become the market leader in this developing field.
