IDBS today announced the release of ChemJuice: a simple to use chemical structure drawing app for the iPhone and iPod touch.

ChemJuice provides a simple, interactive environment for chemists from all disciplines and at all levels to draw, author, examine, annotate, save, and even email, chemical structures from any location, and while on the move using the iPhone or iPod touch.

"I have been looking for a useful chemical drawing tool that could be ported to the iPhone so that I can maximise my use of time when traveling. ChemJuice provides this capability, as well as subtle functions that demonstrate its chemical intelligence and power," said Professor Steven Ley, FRS, University of Cambridge.

"We have always been keen to break new ground and thought 'why can't we use the iPhone as a way for chemists to communicate their ideas?' It's part of our commitment to challenge the old ways of working and help shape the lab of the future. ChemJuice is just the start of what we have planned," said Neil Kipling, founder and CEO of IDBS.
