Ideagen’s Gael Host Healthcare Science Workshop at their Scottish HQ
20 Apr 2015SCOTTISH software company Gael Ltd is to host a healthcare workshop with key members of NHS Scotland on supporting science education and training. Gael, a subsidiary of Ideagen PLC, will welcome the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) in Scotland’s training forum at their headquarters in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire on Wednesday, April 22nd.
The workshop aims to promote discussion on how healthcare science education and training can be supported and augmented using electronic systems.
Andrew O’Hara, Strategic Research Analyst for Healthcare at Gael, said: “As a Company Member of the IBMS, we’re committed to supporting the Institute and its members in improving standards in biomedical science, so we’re looking forwards to what promise to be some lively discussions.
“The event looks at how laboratories currently manage training and where this can be augmented by electronic systems, the ultimate aim being improved staff competence and patient safety.
“It gives laboratories across Scotland the chance to discuss the current state of the service in terms of advances in technology, as well as to share their experience of using electronic systems, such as our own Q-Pulse software, in managing training, including IBMS registration and specialist portfolios.”
The event will see Gael host training managers from 10 of Scotland’s 14 regional health boards and will look to promote discussion on how healthcare science education and training can be supported and augmented using quality management software, such as Q-Pulse.
The workshop will include presentations from IBMS in Scotland training forum members on their current use of Q-Pulse for managing education and training, as well as presentations from Gael on the latest version of Q-Pulse and new features. There will also be a number of breakout sessions to share good practice on managing training and competence.
Gael develops quality management software for global organisations across several industries including the healthcare and life sciences sectors. The company’s Q-Pulse quality management product is widely used throughout the UK’s National Health Service, as well as in private healthcare and life science organisations.
The IBMS in Scotland is the devolved Scottish committee of the IBMS which meets regularly to discuss all matters concerning the biomedical science profession as a whole, but with particular emphasis on the Scottish perspective.
