IDT to Host Presentation on Building Novel DNA Constructs at ASM
7 May 2013Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT), the world leader in oligonucleotide synthesis, will host a user-orientated product theater presentation at the American Society of Microbiology (ASM) annual meeting (18-21 May, Denver, Colorado).
The presentation entitled ‘Rapid and Reliable Gene Construction with gBlocks™ Gene Fragments and Gibson Assembly™ Method’ will take place on 20 May, 11:00 am – 11:45 am in the Exhibit Hall, booth #1307. Led by Dr Michel Cannieux, Director of Product Management at IDT, the presentation will offer first hand advice for bench scientists looking to build and modify novel DNA constructs with ease and speed.
Overcoming the costs and inefficiencies associated with traditional PCR techniques for the assembly of novel genes, IDT gBlocks Gene Fragments can be designed up to 500 base pairs and multiple fragments can be easily assembled for the generation of larger gene constructs. The presentation will guide attendees through this process, offering practical advice for protocols and best practices, while providing insight into the wide range of biological applications and troubleshooting recommendations. The workshop will give scientists a take-away understanding of how gBlocks can be used to proficiently build novel DNA sequences using the Gibson Assembly Method, in a more cost-effective, dependable manner.
In addition, IDT will be exhibiting at booth # 139, and can answer any questions.
