Bitplane, an Oxford Instruments Company and world leader in 2 to 4D image visualization, analysis and interpretation, has launched the latest edition of Imaris, version 8.1. The introductory Imaris 8.1 webinar was broadcast live by Dr Luciano Lucas, Product Manager and Head of Sales for Bitplane, from the 15th international ELMI meeting in Barcelona.

With scientific discovery at its heart, Imaris 8.1 builds on the powerful and versatile infrastructure introduced with Imaris 8.0 six months ago. The new version offers a range of useful solutions for microscopy core facilities and sites where researchers need to work on their data using different computers. In addition, to facilitate the path from image analysis in Imaris to the scientific paper, Bitplane have introduced a new type of Vantage plot (univariate for one of more groups) complete with a “publish” mode. This plot type runs in real time even when hundreds of thousands of data points are displayed.

Some of the newest features of Imaris 8.1 are:

  • Export/Import Assay and Group structures in Arena from one location to another, including local or external hard drive and remote network drive.
  • Import data and file structure, created during acquisition, to Arena.
  • Access data and results from multiple computers to Arena.
  • Univariate plots in Imaris Vantage for single image or group comparisons.
  • Improved speed of conversion to IMS file enabling optimal performance of Imaris software.

Imaris 8.1 is available now for you and your research. For more information, visit http://www.bitplane.com/imaris8
