Integrated DNA Technologies shares its expertise in synthetic biology at MipTec 2013
16 Sept 2013Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT), the world leader in oligonucleotide synthesis, will be speaking at the Natural Products and Synthetic Biology Symposium at MipTec 2013 (24-26 September, Switzerland).
The presentation, entitled ‘Rapid and reliable gene construction with gBlocks™ Gene Fragments and Gibson Assembly™ Method’ will be given by the Director of Product Commercialization at IDT, synthetic biology product manager, Michel Cannieux, PhD, MBA. Providing an overview of gBlocks and their ability to facilitate easy and rapid construction of novel DNA sequences using the Gibson Assembly Method, this talk will detail cloning protocols, applications and troubleshooting recommendations.
As a well-established and effective technique, gene cloning using PCR is often used to construct genes using native DNA sequence, however it can prove problematic. Using gBlocks Gene Fragments you can obtain a rapid method of building and cloning genes. gBlocks are double-stranded, sequence verified DNA blocks up to 750 base pairs, with high sequence fidelity and rapid delivery times making them ideal for a range of biological applications.
