Iridian Announce Availability of Mid-wave and Long-wave Infrared Bandpass Filters
8 Jul 2013Iridian Spectral Technologies Ltd. (Iridian) has announced the addition to its webstore of new standard filters in the mid-wave (MWIR) and long-wave infrared (LWIR) wavelength region. New band-pass filters (BPFs) have been produced to optimize detection of narrow spectral emission lines in the infrared region. Broad-band filters designed to reject light from the visible, near-infrared (NIR), short-wave infrared (SWIR), and LWIR from the 3.5-5.0 um range are also available. Primary applications for the narrow BPFs include detection and quantification of specific gases of interest in environmental or process analysis applications.
Standard narrow BPFs for common gases available online include:
- CH4 (3.46um or 7.73um), CO, CO2 (4.26um or 9.4um), H2O, O3, N2O
(custom gas lines available on request)
- 1” diameter for larger detection systems priced at <$300
- Custom sizing available; <3x3 mm2 for use with TO can style detectors
- Reliability and durability as per MIL-C-48497A
- RoHS compliant parts
Iridian also provides IR filters in custom multi-zone filter assemblies enabling both spatial and spectral detection, imaging, and analysis of as many as 10 discrete M/LWIR bands on a single optical element (developed under a subcontract from ABB Canada for the Space Technology Development Program of the Canadian Space Agency).
These assemblies are perfectly suited for multi-spectral imaging applications in the NIR, SWIR, or M/LWIR regions.
By using our well-established energetic sputtering technology, Iridian can offer these M/LWIR filters at highly competitive prices while providing extreme durability and superior optical performance. These online offerings leverage Iridian’s industry leading capabilities in design and manufacture of optical filters to further address the growing needs for readily available IR sensing filters.
