KREATECH Biotechnology launches Single-color ULS™ Protein Labeling and Fluorescent Detection Kits for Profiling of Serum and Cell Lysates on High- Content Antibody Arrays

2 Mar 2006

KREATECH Biotechnology BV announces the launch of its new ULS™ labeling kits for proteomics applications.

The four Single-color ULS Protein Labeling and Fluorescent Detection Kits are intended for profiling of serum and cell lysate samples on high-content antibody arrays and are an addition to the already available Two-color Protein Labeling Kits for profiling on antibody arrays.

The kits offer the ULS labeling molecule bound to Biotin or Fluorescein for direct labeling of protein analytes in serum and cell lysate samples. The complete kits not only include the appropriate blocking and washing buffers, but also the unique purification column, ULS™-Trap, which ensure the complete removal of unreacted dye while yielding very high sample recovery that is independent of protein size. Upon incubation on the antibody array, detection is provided by anti-Fluorescein-DY™647 or Streptavidin-DY™647 conjugates, allowing scanning of the array in the standard CyTM5 channel. The serum, as well as the cell lysate Single-color ULS™ Protein Labeling and Fluorescent Detection Kits, has been validated on currently available antibody array platforms.

KREATECH’s ULS technology relies on the special binding properties of transition metals, especially platinum, to form coordinative bonds with biomolecules by binding to specific sites on DNA, RNA and proteins. In this way, ULS acts as relatively simple “molecular glue” for DNA, RNA and proteins. As a result of its versatility, customers have a choice of the molecular label attached to the ULS they can use to label the biomolecules of interest.

In addition to kits for protein labeling on antibody arrays KREATECH also commercializes labeling kits for aRNA labeling, small RNA/microRNA labeling, arrayCGH labeling and general nucleic acid labeling.
