KREATECH broadens their line of Biotin labeling kits for Affymetrix® GeneChip® users and gene expression analysis.

KREATECH Biotechnology is pleased to announce the expansion of their line of ULS aRNA labelling kits with biotin ULS for Affymetrix® GeneChip® users and gene expression applications.

The new formats are aimed at providing more specific kit formulations to Affymetrix® platform customers and other single color users by offering more choice than before.

Kreatech has made available for all Kreatech’s current and future aRNA Biotin labelling kits and RNA ampULSe amplification and Biotin labeling kits a format that includes Streptavidin Phycoerythrin (SA-PE) detection reagent. SA-PE is a conjugate between streptavidin (binds to biotin) and phycoerythrin (bright fluorescent protein) that is used for detection of biotin labeled samples on the Affymetrix® GeneChips®. It can also be used as the detection reagent on other platforms. This adds to the convenience of Kreatech’s ULS labeling kits.

In addition to the new Affymetrix® GeneChip® formats, Kreatech now offers the same proven ULS Biotin technology and simple protocol in a kit that is more suited to those customers that perform one color microarrays and do not require the larger amounts of labeled material that is needed for an Affymetrix® GeneChip®. These kits will work on all Biotin platforms.

“This broadening of our product offering will give more choice to our customers based on the platform they are using and in addition, we provide the SA-PE reagent in the kits which none of our competitors offer. This product release is consistent with our strategy of providing complete amplification and labeling kits to our customers, regardless of the platform they use, says Brent Keller, General Manager of Kreatech USA and Vice President Commercial Operations.

KREATECH’s ULS technology relies on the special binding properties of platinum, to form coordinative bonds with biomolecules by binding to specific sites on DNA, RNA and proteins. In this way, ULS acts as a relatively simple “molecular glue” for DNA, RNA and proteins. As a result of its versatility, customers have a choice of the molecular label attached to the ULS they can use to label the biomolecules of interest.

KREATECH currently commercializes labelling kits for aRNA labeling, microRNA and small RNA labelling, arrayCGH labelling, general nucleic acid labeling, and recently introduced both single and two color kits for protein labeling on antibody arrays.
